
Linear Actuators
Linear actuators delivering precise, reliable linear motion by combining ball screws, lead screws, or belt drives with motors (NEMA 08–42) or hand cranks. They utilize rails, shafts, carriages, bearings, and screws tailored for specific payloads, stroke lengths (up to 6 meters), and speeds. These actuators typically feature flat-top carriages that run on high-precision ball bearing profile rails or move via Gliding Surface Technology™ (GST). GST employs self-lubricating FrelonGold® PTFE liners in plain linear bearing pillow blocks on rail-supported shafting or on the undersides of gliding carriages, which slide on similarly shaped rails, ensuring maintenance-free operation under extreme conditions of temperature, particulates, or vibration. With no metal-to-metal contact, GST actuators experience minimal wear and a reduced risk of failure. Miniature linear actuators are available along with heavy duty actuators capable of handling loads of 11,200 N. Options include manual controls (hand brakes or cranks). Various screw diameters, lead sizes, and actuator lengths are available.
