Linear Bearings

PBC Linear® supplies three main types of linear bearings, including self-lubricating plain linear bearings, linear ball bearings, and roller bearing pillow blocks. The Simplicity® Plain Linear Bearings feature a self-lubricating PTFE FrelonGold® liner, ensuring maintenance-free operation in harsh environments across a wide temperature range. Our Linear Ball Bearings consist of an outer ring, steel balls, and a polymer cage, enabling smooth and precise linear motion without limits, and compared to plain bearings, they generate slightly less friction and can operate at higher speeds. Roller Bearing Pillow Blocks carry very heavy loads due to a larger rolling surface.

For the plain bearings, an optional Frelon®W liner is FDA compliant, while the optional Frelon®J liner can best handle harsh chemical contaminants. These bearings support rotary, linear, or oscillating movement and come in variations of open vs. closed, precision ID vs. compensated ID, and the Inch Series vs. ISO Metric or JIS Metric. Other Simplicity® products using the FrelonGold® liner include Plain Bearing Pillow Blocks, Flanged Plain Bearings, Sleeve Bearings, Linear Die Set Bushings, and Square Linear Bearings with Square Shafts.
