Linear Shafts (Shafting) and Support Rails
Linear Shafts and Support Rails prevent linear bearing binding from shaft sag in high-load applications. Our shafts, rails, and assemblies come in various combinations of 1060 carbon steel (RC60 Hardness™), 440 stainless steel (RC50 Hardness™), and feather-light ceramic-coated aluminum. The shafts—solid or pre-drilled—feature an optimized finish for quick break-in with self-lubricating plain linear bearings, ensuring minimal maintenance and extended machinery lifespan, with straightness tolerances of 0.001"-0.002" per foot in standard or custom lengths. The assemblies, offered as fused shaft-rail units or separate components ready to bolt together, can be mounted vertically or horizontally for versatile, economical performance. Support blocks are also available.
